What is Gua Sha?

The term “Gua” means to scrape and “Sha” refers to the redness or bruising that may appear on the skin as a result of the treatment.

Gua Sha is a traditional Chinese healing technique designed to promote circulation, relieve muscle tension, and encourage the body’s natural healing processes.

Gua Sha involves gently sweeping across the skin with a smooth-edged tool, to stimulate microcirculation of the soft tissue. This action helps increase blood flow, reduce inflammation, stimulate lymphatic drainage and release stagnant energy (Qi) believed to cause discomfort or illness.

Often used on the face or body, Gua Sha is praised for its ability to relieve muscle pain, improve skin appearance, boost collagen production and reduce puffiness and fine lines. On the body, it helps alleviate chronic pain, headaches, and tight muscles, while facial Gua Sha is known for sculpting and rejuvenating the skin.

Incorporating Gua Sha into your routine offers both aesthetic and therapeutic benefits. Not only does it provide a natural, non-invasive way to boost skin health and reduce signs of aging, but it also promotes relaxation and helps relieve stress.

Whether you're seeking natural pain relief a brighter skin complexion or a boost in skincare, Gua Sha offers a holistic approach to health and beauty.
