Aftercare
Drink plenty of fluids (water or herbal tea) to flush out any toxins that may have been released from the tissues during the session.
Avoid smoking, drinking alcohol or any strong stimulants (tea, coffee and non-prescriptive drugs) for a minimum of 12 hours. Failure to adhere to these instructions could result in some dehydration and/or reintroducing toxins into the body.
Depending on the level of Sha on the skin, avoid direct heat, such as saunas and hot baths for a minimum of 1 – 12 hours, until it has completely disappeared.
Try to rest after a facial Gua Sha session, this allows the body to carry out its own healing process.
Avoid wearing make-up for at least 30 minutes – 6 hours. The length of time depends on the level of Sha on the skin.
Avoid sun bathing for 1 – 12 hours. The length of time depends on the level of Sha on the skin.
If you use SPF, it can be applied after the session.
These aftercare points are specific to facial Gua Sha and should not replace your usual aftercare.
